We love our planet. At Resfeber Holidays, our philosophy is that your holiday with us should not be at the cost of either the local communities or the environment. A commitment to responsible and sustainable tourism is part of our DNA and your holiday will be designed with this in mind. Our local partners are very well informed about the standards we have set and we ensure that they closely adhere to them.

Travel and tourism has shifted beyond the creation of holiday experiences and connecting them with the customer. The term “travelling” has expanded and now includes lifestyle aspirations and personal enhancement. Applying Maslow’s pyramid of needs as an analogy to travel, now that our physical needs have been satisfied, we will seek emotional nourishment. Therefore, we want our travel experiences to encompass encounters that are not available for us in everyday life.

Responsible tourism satisfies these social needs through contact with local people, and takes us further up the ladder to self-actualisation and realisation through creative activities, knowledge and exploration.

Resfeber Holidays’ mission is to bring tourists closer to local people, their traditions, customs and beliefs.

Standing with the Knuckles Community after Cyclone Ditwah

At Resfeber Holidays, responsible tourism goes beyond travel experiences, it is about standing with the communities that welcome us.

In the aftermath of Cyclone Ditwah, which severely affected families living in and around the Knuckles Mountain Range, Resfeber Holidays took immediate steps to support those impacted by landslides, loss of homes, and disrupted livelihoods. These communities are an integral part of Sri Lanka’s natural and cultural heritage, and many of our journeys pass through or are supported by the people who live here.

As part of our community support and responsible tourism practices, our team, together with international partners, support from our past travellers and guides, provided essential relief assistance to affected families. This initiative reflects our long-term commitment to supporting local communities, protecting fragile ecosystems, and ensuring tourism contributes positively, especially during times of crisis.

We strongly believe that tourism should create meaningful connections and real impact. By supporting the Knuckles community during this difficult time, we reaffirm our responsibility to give back to the destinations we proudly showcase to the world.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our partners, guides, and travelers who continue to support our vision of ethical, responsible, and community focused tourism in Sri Lanka.
